Born and raised in Oakland, California, Delgado moved to Los Angeles in 1994. He began working at radio station KSPC, where he hosted the most listened-to reggae show in Los Angeles for five years. He expanded his repertoire from mainly roots to encompassing the entirety of the reggae genre, with a weekly influx of new dancehall 45s.

During his 10 years in L.A., Delgado was in demand at the most popular clubs and with the most famous artists, such as Buju Banton and Spragga Benz.

He has also released 14 mixed CDs (and tapes, when those were hi-tech), featuring both roots and dancehall. He moved back to Oakland in 2003, and Aztlán Roots was born.
